Fastlane Street Racing App Reviews

I bought Fastlane about a year ago, and found it a worthwhile investment of five dollars. Now it is only one dollar, and based on how many better quality racing titles there are on the appstore, its worth just that. First is the content. There are around 15 courses to drive, which was enough a while ago, but is pathetic today. Its especially suckish considering that there is no multiplayer. Luckily, there are three modes to choose from (Arcade, Challenge, Time Trial) and unlockable cars and colors makes it great for completionists. Then theres the controls. They actually arent half bad, but the default bottom of screen acceleration/brakes leaves you barely hanging onto your device. Also, the steering and braking isnt very casual-friendly. Next is the gameplay. Again, only for hardcore perfectionists. Actually, you need to be good because of the unrealistic technique. Really guys, 300km/h? The cars look like dinky cars. The game is too hard. Finally, the presentation. The graphics look nice enough except for the dinkyness. But then the slowdown kicks in once you hit the tunnel. It says 285 for speed, but turns into 5 fps! Its disappointing! At least the menu screens look good. Overall, Fastlane Street Racing is a senior citizen living in poverty. I give it a 6/10.

This was the best racing game i could find on my Iphone but i thought it would automatically save my progress in the game and it doesnt! Bummer! still overall a great game! just make sure you have alot of time on your hands before you start playing it.

Fastlane Street Racing may be one of the older titles on the iPhone/iPod Touch, but it still has a quality that most can only hope to obtain. Lets take a look at how she holds up. Graphics: 4/5 Fastlanes graphics may not blow your mind like games like Real Racing, but they still look great. The sleek, futuristic style of the environment and cars is rendered in a gorgeous way, with some nice light lighting as well. Worthy of note are the little touches, like the aircraft landing or the random traffic. This gives you the feeling that the city is alive, and not just a track. However, due to Fastlanes age, the draw distance is horrible. Smaller objects literally pop into view as you zip along. Sound: 3.5/5 I like the sound in this game, but it wont win any awards. I personally dont like the menu music, but a few over-used sound bytes, like the drifting squeal, are what kills the sounds for me. Gameplay: 4/5 Fastlane feature some frantic, fun gameplay. There are only 15 tracks, but they get progressively longer, to the point where the last track is literally just every other track in one go. Its like, 10 minutes long. Its great. Also, each track has a "Normal" mode, as well as a "Perfection" mode, where you cannot hit the walls more than 3 times. This is in addition to a Time Trial mode, Challenges, and a "Hard" mode for all of them. A lot of complaints appear about the drifting mechanic, but after you get the hang of it, its easy. I personally prefer turning off the screen tilt and tapping the brakes to enter a drift. It just takes practice. Overall: 4/5 Fastlane Street Racing has dropped in price, but not in quality. If you want a challenge, and are willing to take the time to learn the drifting mechanics, then youll have a blast.

This is the best racing game ever. Its way better than any other racing game its a must have app.

I liked it very much. The bad thing is it freezes on my iphone4 often and I have to turn off and on the device.

Damn thing hasnt worked for months now? I touch the icon, it appears for about 1 second, then goes back to my basic screen! Irritating!

It lacks a bit of a quality of a real racing game. Maybe a big update can energize this game a lot perhaps? The big update can have many new cars, modes, and other things I guess. Overall, this game is recommended.

A good game with ok graphics and nice gameplay. Personally though I prefer Asphalt 6

Needs. Retina. Display.

This game went through a whole two years without a decent update and now the game center has been added and guess what...THEY DIDNT ADD SH**! No achievements, no leaderboards, no multiplayer, no Retina Display, no NOTHING! What a complete waste of time and spent money ($4 since I bought it). Just forget this game people. Its officially left in the dark. Go for better racing sims like Real Racing 2 or NFS Hot Pursuit. Goodbye Fastlane...*Deleted*

Great racing game for a cheap price. Though it isnt as good as other racers, it definitely brings a solid gameplay experience. If you are looking for an average racer that looks good, this is for you. If not, keep looking.
