A mediocre racer

I bought Fastlane about a year ago, and found it a worthwhile investment of five dollars. Now it is only one dollar, and based on how many better quality racing titles there are on the appstore, its worth just that.
First is the content. There are around 15 courses to drive, which was enough a while ago, but is pathetic today. Its especially suckish considering that there is no multiplayer. Luckily, there are three modes to choose from (Arcade, Challenge, Time Trial) and unlockable cars and colors makes it great for completionists.
Then theres the controls. They actually arent half bad, but the default bottom of screen acceleration/brakes leaves you barely hanging onto your device. Also, the steering and braking isnt very casual-friendly.
Next is the gameplay. Again, only for hardcore perfectionists. Actually, you need to be good because of the unrealistic technique. Really guys, 300km/h? The cars look like dinky cars. The game is too hard.
Finally, the presentation. The graphics look nice enough except for the dinkyness. But then the slowdown kicks in once you hit the tunnel. It says 285 for speed, but turns into 5 fps! Its disappointing! At least the menu screens look good.
Overall, Fastlane Street Racing is a senior citizen living in poverty. I give it a 6/10.
